Red King
To the Red King,
I hope you found your castle
with enough chimneys for your smoke
I hope you found some people
to bother with your jokes
I hope you heard the stories
that I told you in the dark
I hope you heard our laughter and my witty remarks
I hope you heard your grand-kin
draw their first breaths
I hope you kept on watching
after your death
I will never know your answers to the questions I ask
so I raise my glass to you, Red King
until we meet again, at last.
